I am writing this letter in support of Britt Raybould who is running for the office of Representative in the State Legislature. Britt served previously and brings the experience and qualifications to provide the voters of Madison County with the effective conservative representation so vitally needed.
We are faced with emerging issues today that require leaders of strong character, who are committed to defending traditional American values that are long-standing principles in our community. Britt was born and raised in Madison County. She knows the people who live here and what is important to them. She will fight to preserve our values.
Britt is an advocate for and supporter of a strong public school system. She recognizes the need to build and strengthen the commendable educational programs provided by our two school districts in Madison County. Her opponent is an advocate for using our tax dollars to pay for private education, an agenda that will weaken our public schools by draining funding from their already stressed budgets.
Idaho also faces a water crisis. Severe droughts in neighboring states, along with predicted shortages locally, will require leaders with expertise and knowledge to preserve and protect our water rights. Britt provides that expertise.
Additionally, Britt has a strong business and agricultural background that can contribute needed support to legislation that will stimulate our local agricultural and business economy.
Britt is an effective Republican conservative, falsely portrayed by her opponent as, “too liberal.” Similar charges are often directed at many conservative Republicans from those in the extreme right camp who take their marching orders from the Idaho Freedom Foundation, rather than from the voters they represent.
Having recently served five terms in the State Legislature, I know the value of working with colleagues who share similar political philosophies. Good legislation is the result of effective collaboration and working together for shared outcomes. A balanced team is much more productive than one divided over political ideologies. Britt’s conservative background, linked with her stated priorities, will provide much-needed balance and productive results to our District 34 legislative team for the coming term.
Please join with me in voting for Britt Raybould in the Primary election on May 17. I believe she truly reflects the values and ideals that are compatible with those expected of a Representative by the voters of Madison County.
